Slavia sign goalkeeper Jan Laštůvka

PRAGUE/EDEN - Another reinforcement for the next season is coming in form of experienced golkeeper Jan Laštůvka. 34-year old former Czech international played in MFK Karviná last year and belonged to the best goalies of the Czech league.
Laštůvka started his senior career in Karviná and soon moved to Baník Ostrava, where he won the Czech title in 2004. After this success, he moved to Shakhtar Donetsk where he spent another five years seizing two Ukrainian titles. For part of this time Laštůvka went on-loan to Fulham, Wfl Bochum and West Ham United. Later he spent best part of his career in Dnipro, where he played from 2009 to 2016 starting in more than hundred games.

"It is a great responsibility to play for Slavia. The club´s goals are high, but I am not afraid. I will fight to be the first-choice keeper and I want to help Slavia to qualify for the Champions League," Laštůvka said.

Slavia defeated Slovan Liberec 1–0 in the 17th round at Fortuna Arena, maintaining their perfect home record in the Chance League this fall. Mojmír Chytil scored the winning goal in the 41st minute, with Dominik Pech earning his first league assist. A total of 17,969 spectators attended the match in Eden.

Loss to Fenerbahce, Chorý scored an opener

Slavia Prague suffered a 1–2 defeat against Turkish side Fenerbahçe SK in the 5th round of the UEFA Europa League group stage, despite taking an early lead through Tomáš Chorý. The visitors turned the match around with goals from Edin Džeko and En Nesyri. Slavia remains on four points in the group.
