Getting ready for Maccabi

PRAGUE/EDEN - The red & whites face their firs UEFA Europa League opponent Maccabi on Thursday. The game starts in Eden at 7 pm and tickets are still available online and in the stadium box office.
Slavia have a very difficult week ahead – Maccabi game on Thursday and the Prague Derby against Sparta on Sunday, both home in Eden Arena. “It’s not an easy task, we know this. There are two extremely difficult games ahead. Both the entry into the Europa League and league Derby are important for us and I believe we will manage them both,” manager Jaroslav Šilhavý says.

Maccabi: Highly organised, experienced club

“Maccabi is very strong and experienced European club, maybe I can compare them to APOEL a bit. Their players are similar. They all have speed, all have skills and their play is highly organised. On the other hand, they are also spontaneous in their offensive part. During the qualifying rounds they showed how organised they can be in the away games. I would compare their strengths to the best Czech clubs – Sparta or Plzeň,” continues our manager.

“We play home and we would like to be fast, active. I believe the full stadium fill be pushing us forward. We must create chances, free kicks and we also must utilize them better than we did in previous games,” Šilhavý concluded.

Our Squad

Simon Deli will be ready for the game. The centre-back already recovered from his injury.

Dušan Švento and Danny will miss the game due to illness or injury.
