Oscar Dorley signs new contract until 2027

Oscar extended his contract with Slavia until June 30, 2027. The signing ceremony was traditionally attended by his mother, and in an interview, he shared his impressions and joy about the successful start to the season.

The Liberian international joined Slavia in August 2019, and he spent the autumn part of the 2019/20 season on loan to Slovan Liberec. He made his debut in the red and white jersey on March 1, 2020, against Slovácko. With Slavia, he has won the Czech title twice and celebrated victory in the domestic cup twice as well.

He played in the quarterfinals of the Europa League and the Europa Conference League, becoming an essential member of Jindřich Trpišovský´s coaching team. Once he recovers from his injury, he will be able to add to his record of 130 competitive appearances (4 goals + 16 assists) for Slavia.

"I´m thrilled about the new contract. I´m happy to be here, and I´m excited to continue with Slavia. I see it as the beginning of a new chapter. Slavia is one of the best teams. It´s a great honor to play for them," Oscar said immediately after signing the new contract.

Shortly before that, he had a phone conversation with his mother, and they performed the same ritual together during the signing of the current contract, which is valid until June 2025.

"My mom is very important to me. Whatever I do, I try to have her there, helping me make important decisions. She´s always there for me, it´s always been that way. That we could experience this together means a lot to me. She´s been with me in the tough times, the good times, just every time. That´s why I want to have her close always," revealed the 25-year-old player, who was sidelined due to injury in the last three competitive matches.

"I´m feeling much better. Hopefully, I´ll join the team´s training at the beginning of the week. The start of the season is very promising, better than the previous season. I want to be part of it. We´re gradually getting stronger. If we continue like this, we will definitely be champions. I believe in it wholeheartedly," says Oscar.
