Slavia have signed the top scorer of Slovakian league

PRAGUE – Slavia have signed the top scorer of Slovakian league Dutchman Gino van Kessel until 30 June 2019. The plane with the right winger or striker landed in Prague on Wednesday morning.
“We want to reach the top again, become domestic champions and succeed in European competitions. I firmly believe that Gino, who proved his qualities in Trenčín over and over again, can help us,” said the chairman of the board Jaroslav Tvrdík.

“My first impressions? I am excited that I signed a contract in Slavia. It is a big club with a beautiful stadium and great fans,” beamed Gino van Kessel.

Gino Ronald van Kessel was born in Alkmaar 9 March 1993. Playing in several youth academies, the talented youngster was soon picked by Ajax Amsterdam. Van Kessel spent the following seasons on a loan, firstly in second league team Almere City FC, later in Trenčín.

His transfer to AC Arles-Avignon was only a brief stop before he returned to Trenčín and became one of the offensive leaders of the Slovakian Champions. Trenčín won the domestic cup twice in the previous two seasons as well as the first league title, celebrating double in both seasons. And Gino van Kessel became a top scorer of the Fortuna league, as he scored 17 times. He is far to be a favourite in MŠK Žilina, as van Kessel scored four times in their net during 32th round.

The Curaçao national team player is currently fighting for the Caribbean Cup and showing he has no problem to convert chances. He scored a hat trick against U.S. the Virgin Islands to prove that.
