The die is cast. Slavia went to Rome

On Tuesday, Slavia players embarked on a journey to the Italian capital, where they will challenge AS Roma in the third round of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday at 21:00.

Before departure, assistant coach Zdeněk Houštecký and forward Mojmír Chytil shared their thoughts.

"It´s a renowned team, but sometimes even these teams go through minor crises. Now they´re playing excellently again, and they´ve handled their recent matches well. The truth will be revealed on the field, and we will do everything to make it red and white," assistant coach Zdeněk Houštecký describes the current state of Roma.

"This is the exact match we dreamed of as little boys. Playing on such a big stadium will be an enormous experience; I can´t even sleep anymore," laughs forward Mojmír Chytil.

The lineup of Thursday´s opponent features big names, including holders of the Serie A title and winners of the last World Cup in Qatar.

"As a forward, I´m most curious about Romelu Lukaku. He is immensely strong, fast, and I´m really looking forward to confronting him," adds Chytil, the author of six goals in the current season.

"I think we started the group brilliantly, and it brought tranquillity to our veins. Now we can prepare for Rome with a clear mind; we´re simply going to fight for first place," says the twenty-four-year-old forward with a smile.

In the Italian capital, two undefeated teams of Group G will face each other. Rome has managed to handle duels with Servette and Sheriff, but Slavia currently lead Group G by goal difference.

"We will play as we always do, offensively and actively. We want to challenge them as equals. We´ve studied our opponent, and we´ll try to come up with something against them. The guys will definitely give their all," believes Houštecký.
