UHERSKÉ HRADIŠTĚ/CITY STADIUM MIROSLAVA VALENTY – Goals by Souček, Škoda and van Buren ensured the red & whites returned to winning ways in Czech HET liga as Slavia beat Slovácko 3-0 on their stadium.

After Slovan Liberec put an end to the series of 36 league games without a single defeat Slavia travelled to Uherske Hradiste to play Slovacko. The red & whites needed to return to the winning ways to get back to the second place in the league table.

Slavia started with Škoda in front, supported by van Buren, Hušbauer and Danny as offensive midfield.

It was Slovácko, though, who started the game better when Zajíc could capitalize from Juroška pass, but Frydrych blocked his shot on time.

But at minute 14 Slavia took lead by Tomáš Souček. Danny sent a through pass to van Buren, his shot was punched away by goalkeeper Daněk and Souček fired the ball into an open net. 1-0.

Slavia then set the pace of the game and soon added second when captain Milan Škoda scored from a penalty kick after Reinberk’s hand play inside the box. 2-0 at minute 28.

And shortly before the break Danny could add a third but he directed his header after another blocked shot just towards the left post.

But just one minute into the second half the third goal was added by Mick van Buren. The Dutch offensive midfielder directed Bořil cross precisely to the bottom corner of the net.

Despite many other chances Slavia have not scored in the remaining minutes. Daněk saved dangerous shots by Sýkora and Necid, Frydrych’s effort after a corner was blocked by the home defence and Bořil missed with his firm shot.

The red & whites returned on the second place of the league table. They have not lost in 19 consecutive away league games in row. It is the longest run in the separate Czech league (since 1993) and the longest run since Sparta in 1943-46.
