AC Sparta Praha - SK Slavia Praha
The league derby four days after the cup match primarily showcased a defensive battle. Slavia managed to perfectly neutralize the attacking power of the hosts, allowing Jindřich Staněk to celebrate his debut in a competitive match with his first clean sheet. The goalless draw means that the difference in the table between the two teams remains at four points.
Jindřich Trpišovský decided to make several changes to the starting lineup compared to the Wednesday cup derby. Václav Jurečka returned to the attack after his forced absence due to a red card, and captain Jan Bořil started in defense from the beginning. However, the most significant change was the start of Jindřich Staněk, who stood between the posts for the first time since his injury in the winter preparation.

The match started at a brisk pace, and just two minutes in, Haraslín attempted to bypass Vlček in the penalty area after a cross from the right, but Vlček managed to poke the ball away while falling. In the 11th minute, Slavia launched a counter-attack five on three, and Václav Jurečka received the ball on the left side of the penalty area, but his pass into the box was blocked by the defense.

After a quick start, the game settled down. Sparta struggled to find space for combinations against Slavia's high defense, while Slavia repeatedly attempted quick through balls behind the defense, which the home defense managed to stop or intercept in most cases.

In the 25th minute, Birmančevič and Kuchta found themselves in a counter-attack against the Slavia penalty area, but David Zima managed to intercept the ball from Kuchta in a good position.

Just under a quarter of an hour later, Preciado made his way into the Slavia penalty area from the right side and sent a dangerous pass to Haraslín, but the Slavia defense managed to clear the ball for a corner. In the 41st minute, Chytil extended a long ball behind him to Douděra, whose cross-shot missed the goal.

Already in injury time of the first half, Douděra broke through on the right past Krejčí and sent a cross into the penalty area seeking Jurečka, but he missed the ball by a few centimeters in the air.

The first half thus brought significantly fewer chances than four days earlier, and the teams went into the break with a goalless draw. Ivan Schranz did not start the second half, being replaced by Malick Diouf, who scored the second goal in the cup derby.

Oscar stopped Laci's promising chance early in the second half, while a few moments later, Vlček shot after a quick counter-attack, his effort, however, was blocked for a corner.

In the 59th minute, Haraslín found himself in a great chance after a press from the home team on the left side of the penalty area. The Sparta midfielder managed to send the ball past the onrushing Staněk, but his typical curling shot missed the far post.

In the 71st minute, Preciado decided to spice up the relatively disciplined match being fouled by Bořil and then swinging at the Slavia captain while on the ground, hitting him in the thigh. After a VAR check, Sparta defender was sent off.

After the dismissal, Sparta retreated into a deep block, and Slavia had their most active passage of the match. However, apart from Tomič's fierce cross in the third minute of stoppage time, which Vindahl had to deal with, they did not create a clear chance.

The 310th Prague derby thus offered a significantly different picture than the cup clash four days earlier. It was a match of reliable defenses with minimal shots and minimal chances, ending in a goalless draw. The difference between the two teams in the league table remains at four points.
