Liberec - Slavia
LIBEREC/U NISY STADIUM - Slavia traveled to Liberec for the direct duel of who would spend the winter on Europa League spot. The visitors took an early lead through Jaromír Zmrhal but only two minutes in the second half were enough for Slovan to come from behind. In 57th and 59th minute Bakoš and Pavelka set the score to 2-1 for the home side.
Just two minutes into the first half Slavia took the lead through Jaromír Zmrhal. Milan Škoda’s header found Zmrhal inside penalty area and Slavia winger fired his shot from narrow angle towards the far post.

Slovan had several chances in the first half but managed to break the deadlock only after 57 minutes through substitute Marek Bakoš. Home forward fired his shot past Martin Berkovec after Rabušic’s low cross just two minutes after he had come on the pitch. 1-1.

Less than two minutes later Liberec gain the lead. This time captain of the home side David Pavelka stood at the end of similar situation when his drive from 18 meters found its place between Berkovec’s hand and right post. 2-1.

Slavia tried to threaten their equaliser and Jaromír Zmrhal could double his account after 84 minutes, but goalkeeper Koubek clawed his volley shot with a perfect flying save.

In the last minutes it was Slovan who had better opportunities, however both Rabušic and Shala missed the target. Thus, despite a tremendous support by more than a thousand away-fans, the red-and-whites lost their first away game since August.

The last defeat to Liberec means that Slavia will stay on the 5th place during a winter break. Slovan have now three-point lead on the fourth place – the last spot to secure UEFA Europa League qualifying round in 2016/2017.
