Alex Král returns to Slavia

Central defender Alex Král returns to Slavia after two years in FK Teplice. Král signed deal with red-whites till 2023.
Král will travel with Slavia for their first winter training camp in Spain on Thursday. 20-year old player is Slavia’s third reinforcement after midfielders Petr Ševčík from Slovan Liberec and Lukáš Masopust from FK Jablonec. On the other side, Slavia forward Jan Kuchta will transfer to Teplice on loan till June 2020.

“It’s another big step in my career and I am looking forward to run onto the pitch in front of Slavia amazing crowd. On the other hand, it is also a big commitment. I need to show that Slavia did not choose me by accident and that I am worth it,” Král said on his first day in Eden.

20-year old central defender returns to well-known environment. Alex Král joined Slavia in the age of 13 from Brno and started for all the youth teams including Slavia U21. In 2017 he moved to FK Teplice to make his first senior appearance in Czech 1st League. During 2017/18 he became regular in Teplice starting line-up and one of the most demanded Czech young defenders. He started in 48 competitive games for Teplice scoring 2 goals and adding 5 assists. Since 2017 Král has been member of Czech U21 national team.

“Alex belongs among the most talented players in his category. Sometimes it happens that players leave the clubs they’ve been raised in and return after some time,” Slavia Sports Director Jan Nezmar said. “Thanks to his period in Teplice he gained huge senior football experience which is unique in his age. He made big break in his career and we believe he will make even bigger in Slavia,” Nezmar added.
