Exclusive interview with the president

PRAGUE - Slavia´s new president and chairman of the board Jiří Šimáně gave an exclusive interview to the Friday magazine of Deník Sport.

Changes

"My life hasn´t changed much since I entered the club. It is filled with emotions because they walk hand in hand with football. I have a business outside Slavia, so I have to work more."

Fandom or commitment

"It is a huge commitment, that is for sure, but first of all, I see it as a huge responsibility. Not just responsibility towards the club and employees but also fans. My heart still beats for Slavia, I would not give it a try otherwise."

Winter transfer window

"Our priority are offensive players and midfielders. Our defence is good, we have an excellent pair of centre-backs Latka and Deli. But we also need to strengthen it."

Relationship with the players

"I want to show them respect because they are part of the club, they work hard and they represent Slavia. I wish they would be proud to be a part of such famous club. But on the other hand, they have to show respect even to a part-time cleaning lady, because without her, their working conditions would not be the best. The club should be built on mutual respect."
