New contracts for Jan Bořil and Vladimír Coufal

Captain Jan Bořil and right back Vladimír Coufal signed new long-term contracts with the red and whites.

Both players who belonged to the main pillars of recent Slavia have signed new contracts during the training camp in Austrian Laa an der Thaya with Slavia Chairman of Board Jaroslav Tvrdík.

Slavia captain Jan Bořil signed new contract until June 2023. Bořil joined Slavia in December 2015 and won two Czech titles and two Czech FA Cups since. Last season he scored important goals against Cluj and Barcelona in the Champions League. When Škoda and Souček left the club last winter he became Slavia captain and lifted the 20th domestic title for the red and whites.

“I want to stay in Slavia as long as possible,” captain said. “So, when I saw this offer, I could not refuse. I am glad I can be here three more years and I will do my best to satisfy the fans, the club and myself,” Bořil added.

Right Back Vladimír Coufal signed new contract until June 2024. Coufal joined Slavia in June 2018 and immediately became regular in Jindřich Trpišovský’s starting line-up. He won two Czech titles and two Czech FA Cups too.

“Slavia put great trust in me, and I will do everything to be at least as successful as we were the last two years. Signing new contract shows that I would do everything for this club,” Coufal said.
