Simion Michez joins Slavia

The 22-year-old full-back Simion Michez is moving to Eden from Belgian club Beerschot VA, having signed a contract until June 30, 2028.

“Many clubs were interested in Simion, the negotiations were long, tough, but fair. We are bringing in a young player, and we expect him to increase competition on the right side of the field. He showed in the beginning of the season that he can be productive, especially in his debut season in the top Belgian league. We hope for a similar story to the one Malick Diouf is writing with us,” says Slavia’s sporting director Jiří Bílek.

The transfer fee amounts to 2.2 million euros.

“I am very happy, and hopefully in a good mental place. I’m not afraid of anything and I’m looking for the highest level I can reach. This is a great step for me. I’m grateful for it and I can’t wait to start playing with my new teammates and in front of the amazing fans. I watched Lille on TV, and I was personally at the Pardubice game. It gave me the desire to start playing here. My ambition is to win everything possible,” says Simion Michez.

Simion Boubacar Michez was born on February 9, 2002, in Belgium. He also went through youth national teams and currently represents Cameroon. On the league stage, he has so far played for Beerschot VA, currently the last team in the Jupiler Pro League. Last season, he helped his teammates to promotion to the top division with five goals and three assists. He thus holds a title from the Challenger Pro League, which he first experienced with RSC Anderlecht´s U23 team.

In the current season, he has mostly played as a right wing-back in six matches, in which he has already scored three points. He scored a goal and an assist against strong Genk in a 3-4 defeat. The young defender is characterized by his technical maturity, explosiveness, and speed, which allows him to effectively work on the flank, get past his marker, and create chances in the attacking third.

Good luck in red and white, Simi!
