Against Lyon, St. Pölten and Brann in the UWCL group stage

Slavia Ladies have advanced to the group stage of the UWCL for the second year in a row. They secured their place among the top sixteen European clubs by defeating Romanian side Cluj, winning 5-0 at home and 6-0 in the away leg.

In the draw, Slavia were placed in the same group as Lyon, the champions who have won the elite competition eight times between 2011 and 2022, with ten final appearances to their name.

Slavia had close matches against St. Pölten last season, losing 0-1 at home and drawing 1-1 in the away leg.

Norwegian team Brann is a newcomer to the group stage in the current format that has been in place since the 2021/22 season.

"I am satisfied with the Champions League draw. We had the opportunity to play in the group stage with St. Pölten last year, so I think that will work to our advantage because we already have some experience with them. Lyon is an attractive club that could draw a lot of spectators. I believe that this year we have a much stronger team than we did last season, we have more experience, and overall, I think we have great team strength. Everyone will want to prove themselves and fight to earn as many points as possible in the group and possibly even dream of advancing from the group," said goalkeeper Olivie Lukášová after the draw.

"It´s a very interesting group, and we´re looking forward to it. From the top-seeded team, Lyon, a multiple-time Champions League winner, it will be a great experience to play against one of the best teams in the world. The other two opponents are very intriguing for us. We know St. Pölten from last year, but Brann is completely new to us. We want to earn more points in the group than we did last year, and I believe it´s achievable," evaluated team captain Diana Bartovičová after the draw.
