Before St Joseph’s | Quotes from the press conference

Manager Jindřich Trpišovský was talking to media before the home game against St Joseph“s in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

On the rotation in the line-up

“We need to consider all circumstances including the following fixtures and current health conditions of some of the players. We can also use the possibility to start unlimited number of foreign players. The most important for us is the acclimatisation of new players on the home ground.”

On the goalkeeper’s position

“After an agreement with our goalkeeper’s coach we have decided that Aleš Mandous will start into the second leg as well. He feels good, so, it’s a no-brainer.”

On the nearly biggest European win for Slavia in the first leg

“I haven’t noticed this statistic until the end of the first game. When we were leading by four goals, I was thinking that it is better to waste chances then because there will be games when we’ll need the effectivity much more.”

On Yira Sor’s start

“Yira will not play on Thursday, and we will see how it develops until Sunday. He brought certain health issues from Gibraltar which continued during recent trainings. He has undergone medical examinations with a positive outcome, now he is in a regime to be 100% ready for Panathinaikos.”

On the possibility of a new centre-back

“The situation has not changed. Having a new centre-back for qualifying rounds is not a topic, however, we are interested in certain players, and we would like to bring one of them. Currently there is no agreement between us and any other club. The transfer is not close.”
