Slavia against Danish clubs: 10 games, 8 wins

FC Midtjylland will be the 6th Danish opponent in Slavia history. The red and whites won 8 out of 10 games against the Danes.

FC Midtjylland will be the sixth Danish club we meet in a competitive game. Slavia won 8 out of 10 previous competitive games, the only loss dates to 1983 (0-2 away to Brondby in International Football Cup).

Slavia scored 22 goals against clubs from Denmark, conceded 6. The last Danish club which managed to score against the red-whites was Brondby again, in July 1994. We have not conceded a single goal in 4 following games against Akademisk Boldklub (UEFA Cup) and FC Copenhagen (UEFA Europa League).

Jan Matoušek celebrates his goal against FC Copenhagen in 2018/19 UEFA Europa League.

Our first match with Danish opponent dates to 1978 when we defeated Odense BK 3-1 both home and away in International Football Cup (predecessor to Intertoto Cup). Our last opponent from Denmark was FC Copenhagen in 2018/19 UEFA Europa League Group stage. Slavia won 1-0 away thanks to Jan Matoušek’s goal early in the second half, the home game ended in a goalless draw.

In February 2020 we played two friendly games against Danish sides during our winter training camp in Portugal. The match against AGF Aarhus ended in penalties and the Danes won 4-3. Few days later our young squad lost 0-2 to Brondby.
