Slavia - Příbram
PRAGUE/EDEN ARENA - The first league win of the season came only three days after 0-3 defeat with Anderlecht in Europa League play-off. And the game against Příbram ended with the same result thanks to the goals by Mešanovič, Škoda and Hušbauer.
Prior to the game Slavia had two points from two previous league games and Příbram was on the last place with no point and 0-6 score after three games.

Against such an opponent the sewn-ones definitely wanted to improve their league start and manager Dušan Uhrin made seven changes in the starting line-up in compare to the unsuccessful game against Anderlecht earlier that week. For the first time in this season Slavia started with 4-4-2 formation with Mešanovič and Škoda as forwards.

However for most of the first half it looked like Slavia would not find their way through the guest’s defence. Until the 45th minute when Muris Mešanovič broke the deadlock with his rebound header after Škoda’s shot hit the woodwork.

Slavia set the pace for most of the second half as well, Mešanovič again directed his shot past the post on 53 minutes and just four minutes later Zmrhal hit woodwork with his chip from 16 meters.

But it was the other Forward – Milan Škoda – who doubled the lead on 65 minutes just before he was substituted by Antonín Barák. Škoda latched on pass from Hušbauer and sent his shot precisely towards the left post of the net.

Eden Arena had to wait for the last goal till the very last minute. Josef Hušbauer tried his luck from 20 meters, the ball slipped on the grass and goalkeeper Aleš Hruška did not manage to stop the effort outside his own net.

Slavia thus takes three points for clear 3-0 win against Příbram. The next match in Brussels against Anderlecht will be played on August 25 at 8 pm.
