Slavia - Leicester City
Slavia drew with Leicester City in the first leg of the Europa League Round of 32.

Slavia manager Jindřich Trpišovský made only two changes to his starting eleven compared to the last league match against Pardubice. David Zima started instead of Simon Deli as centre-back and Jan Bořil replaced Oscar Dorley on left-back.

Slavia started the game fearlessly and set the pace in the opening fifteen minutes. The first chance came just 3 minutes into the game when Lukáš Provod took the corner kick and sent the ball to the far post where Ondřej Kúdela's volley but missed close.

Leicester also had few chances at the beginning of the game, the biggest one in the 14th minute. Youri Tielemens found Harvey Barnes on the left wing and Barnes ran to the penalty area chased by two Slavia defenders, but Ondřej Kolář made a great save against his low effort.

Another good chance for the Red-whites came after 21 minutes. Nico Stanciu crossed the ball to the far post where Alexander Bah who headed it, but his effort missed the near post again.

After 30 minutes Tomáš Holeš had to be substituted and replaced by Jakub Hromada with sprained ankle from one of the duels.

For the rest of the first half, the tempo of the match slowed down and none of the teams got into any major chance.

After the break Slavia dominated the first 15 minutes when the ball was almost constantly on Leicester’s half. Especially between the 55th and 60th minute, the Red-whites made several attempts on Schmeichel's goal, Nico Stanciu's free kick was the most dangerous one, but ended in Schmeichal's gloves.

Both sides became more cautious in the course of the game. Between 60th and 80th minute, the match was slowed down by several tackles and substitutions on both sides and no bigger chances came anymore. Iheanacho and Tielemans were awarded both a yellow card which rules Ihenachio out of the second leg in England.

Slavia drew the first leg of the Round of 32 0-0 against Leicester City. The second leg will be played on 25th February in Leicester.
