The Red-whites defeated Baník Ostrava 4-0 and extended their unbeaten run in the Czech league to 50 games!

Manager Jindřich Trpišovský made several changes to his starting eleven having to choose from the squad depleted by injuries. Captain Jan Bořil returned to the pitch 17-year old Daniel Samek started in midfield and Stanislav Tecl replaced Jan Kuchta as a lone striker. Hovorka, Provod, Olayinka, Masopust, Kuchta, Plavšić, Ševčík, Zima, Musa and Krmenčík were all unavailable for the match.

The first 30 minutes of the game did not bring any goalscoring opportunity and both goalkeepers had to deal only with several crosses.

After half an hour Alexander Bah was tackled aproximatelly 26 metres from goal, Daniel Samek stepped up to take the free kick, sent a very nice cross to the middle of the penalty area from where Stanislav Tecl headed the ball into the top right corner! 1-0.

Daniel Samek left his mark in the match again in the 45th minute. After a series of passes on the right wing, Samek sent the ball to Schranz who returned it back to him. 17-year old academy graduate sent his cross shot to the far post and scored his maiden goal for Slavia first team! 2-0.

At the beginning of the second half, Baník made a triple substitution to boost their attacking options. Slavia also had to make one change after Taras Kacharaba was replaced by Tomáš Holeš due to health problems.

The change that Ostrava made was visible almost immediately as they had multiple efforts on goal between 45th and 55th minute, but Ondřej Kolář showed several great saves to deny Baník strikers.

Slavia put the tie to bed with the third goal in the 51st minute. Schranz seized the ball on the left wing, passed it trough the defence into the penalty area to Ondřej Lingr and his surprising shot on the near post made it 3-0.

In the 65th minute Stanislav Tecl dribbled trough defence to get right in front of Laštůvka who blocked his shot from close range. The ball rebounded to Alexander Bah who was brought down by David Lischka in the penalty area and referee pointed to the spot. Ondřej Kúdela converted the spot-kick and made it 4-0.

Stanislav Tecl could add his second goal of the game after 80 minutes when receiving a great pass from the left side, but his chip only hit the far post.

The Red-whites thus won the match 4-0 - which is the biggest win of the 2021/22 season so far - and extended their unbeaten run in the Czech league to 50 games. Next game for the Red-Whites comes on 26th August in the Europa League play-off away at Legia Warszawa.
