Slavia dominated the battle between first and third, beating Pilsen 3:0 in the 9th round of the Chance Liga. Jan Bořil scored as well as Tomáš Chorý and Lukáš Provod to secure the win. 18 783 fans visited the Fortuna Arena.
The coach chose the same lineup that won the two-goal victory in Mladá Boleslav on Tuesday. Tribuna Sever welcomed the players with a great choreography. David Douděra had the first chance after an error by Tvrdoň, the goalkeeper was covered by Jemelka, who did not let the ball into the uncovered goal. An acrobatic finish by Mojmír Chytil missed the right post by a whisker. At the end of the 10th minute, the sold-out Eden was already celebrating, after Douděra's cross, Diouf shot, Tvrdoň managed to parry his shot, but he was short on Jan Bořil's rebound - 1:0. The captain of Slavia enjoyed his first goal in the league since 21 April, when he scored against Olomouc, and became the eleventh league goal scorer for Slavia this season. Tomáš Chorý volleyed into Tomáš Holeš's cross, but missed with his right foot. Lukáš Provod's cross was cleared by the Plzeň goalkeeper for a corner. In the 24th minute, Igoh Ogbu was carried off the field on a stretcher after colliding head-on with Kopic and Markovic in the penalty area, and David Zima took his place. Antonín Kinský made a great save against Jirka's long-range attempt at his right post, while Chorý's header after Diouf's cross went into Tvrdoň's arms. Havel couldn't direct his header between the three posts, two promising positions of Mojmir Chytil didn't end in the goal either. In the 40th minute Jirka shot over the crossbar from a good position, five minutes later Tvrdoň brought down Chytil in the penalty area, referee Černý reviewed the situation and ordered a penalty kick. Tomáš Chorý took the penalty and with an excellent finish to the left post he smashed the net, the Pilsen goalkeeper stayed in the middle - 2:0. But that was not all of the first half... After a corner kick by Zafeiris, Lukáš Provod slammed the ball into the net and, with the help of Jemelka's touch, added a third goal for Slavia - 3:0. Petr Ševčík replaced the injured Oscar in the second half, Plzeň substituted goalkeepers, Jedlička replaced Tvrdoň in goal, who immediately saved the shot from Chorý, after Bořil sent him on a breakaway. A dangerous attempt by Prince Adu was saved by Bořil and Zima, the score remained unchanged. In the 66th minute, Chytil finished the game and Ondřej Lingr headed to the pitch. Holeš's shot was scraped out by Jedlička with the tips of his gloves for a corner, and the national team's full back then stamped the post with his header. Kalvach's long-range shot was caught by Kinský, Simion Michez ran out to make his debut in the red-and-white jersey in the 77th minute, Provod had his work cut out for him. At the same time, Chorý finished the game, replaced by Conrad Wallem. Zima's header was dangerous, missing by centimetres, as was Dweh's on the other side of the pitch. At the end of the game Matěj Jurásek took off his warm-up kit, replacing Douděra. Kinský made an excellent save on Vašulín. With a 3:0 win, Slavia tuned up for Wednesday's Europa League opener at Ludogorets Razgrad and matched Liberec's record from 2006 with their seventh clean sheet in their eighth league game. On Wednesday Slavia women will play in Eden at 18:00 in the Champions League clash against Galatasaray Istanbul in Turkey, the first leg match ended 2-2.
