Tomáš Holeš opened the score against Karviná, but the away team managed to equalise five minutes before the final whistle.
Four days before the MOL Cup final against Plzeň Slavia started with Abdallah Sima in the starting eleven. Sima retuned to the squad after more than 5-week long pause caused by groin injury.

Slavia could take lead with just 5 minutes on the clock. Sima sent a good pass to Kuchta inside of the box, our forward was brought down by Karviná goalkeeper Neuman and the referee pointed to the spot. Jan Kuchta was the one to take the penalty, but Neuman managed to block his effort.

Five minutes later Stanciu combined with Olayinka on the left side and got into a shooting position, but Karviná goalkeeper managed to block his deflected effort on the corner. A minute later Deli headed wide after Bah’s cross from the right wing.

Karviná got into their first chance after 17 minutes when Herc headed wide after a set piece. In the 22nd minute Slavia could execute two corner kicks. From the second one Nico Stanciu found Abdallah Sima who sent his header just wide.

Slavia thus had to wait for the opener till the 40th minute. Nicolae Stanciu found Jan Bořil inside of the box, his shot was blocked, the ball rebounded to Tomáš Holeš and our midfielder sent it through three players into the net.

It was Karviná, however, who were more dangerous towards the end of the opening half. In the 42nd minute Čmelík went past Deli inside of the box and Kolář had to block his low shot with his leg. Three minutes later Bartošák could go on Kolář again after a counter-attack, but our goalkeeper stopped his cross-shot with his left hand.

Jan Kuchta got into the first chance of the second half, but sent his header wide after a sharp cross by Ševčík. The same player headed again two minutes later after another cross from the left wing, but Neuman managed make a good save again.

In the 70th minute Karviná could equalise after another counter-attack when Herc headed on the far post, but Bah managed to stop his effort on the goal line. Only a minute later the same player sent the ball into Slavia net, but the goal was disallowed due to offside.

Slavia could not get past resilient Karviná defence. In the 76th minute Sima got rid of his defender on the left side of the box, but van Buren could not reach his cross in front of an open net in one of few Slavia chances towards the end of the game.

In the 85th game Karviná managed to equalise from yet another counter-attack. Deli failed to stop long through ball from Karviná own half, Lukáš Čmelík latched onto the pass and fired it through Kolář.

Slavia thus failed to win against Karviná, on the other side, the Red and whites stretched their league unbeaten record at home to 49 games. With two games left Slavia are still unbeaten in the 2020/21 Fortuna Liga.
