Mladá Boleslav - Slavia
MLADÁ BOLESLAV/MĚSTSKÝ STADION – Slavia were losing two points on third Mladá Boleslav and it was clear that the Saturday game would be one of the crucial fights for 2016/17 Europa League spot. Down to ten players, the sewn-ones lost 1-2 to Mladá Boleslav.
Dušan Uhrin missed injured goalkeeper Martin Berkovec, so the winter reinforcement Jíří Pavlenka debuted for Slavia in the first league match and he had to face the most productive offence of the whole campaign.

The first half didn’t bring much excitement, Pavlenka covered Kalabiška’s and Ščuk’s shots and Hušbauer set-up a dangerous counter-attack for Slavia when he anticipated Šeda’s pass. Škoda’s effort was unfortunately blocked by the home defence.

The pace changed rapidly in the 56th minute when Chramosta fell in the box and the referee not just awarded Boleslav the penalty kick, he also sent off the central defender Michal Frydrych. Magera didn’t miss and the home team took the lead.

Slavia was down to ten players and within few minutes the sewn-ones lost also the head coach as Dušan Uhrin vocally disagreed with the decisions of the referee and was sent off to watch the rest of the game from the stands.

Muris Mešanovič replaced Jaroslav Mihalík and the Bosnian forward fought hard to even the score. His most dangerous shot in 77th minute hit unluckily only the goalpost. Not even Tomáš Souček, the hero of the previous match with Baník, could surprise the Boleslav goalie. Šeda returned back in time.

And the punishment for all the missed opportunities came in 85th minute when Rada shot from distance and netted in Boleslav’s second goal. Slavia haven’t stop trying, Levan Kenia executed a free kick in 90th minute and Mešanovič headed in the only goal of the sewn-ones. The home side had to breath out in relief when Kenia’s final free kick missed the top corner of the goal and Slavia lost 1-2 to Boleslav.
