Mladá Boleslav - Slavia
Goals: 28. a 40 Stanciu, 82. Júsuf (pen.)
Nicolae Stanciu was the star of the show scoring two as Slavia beat Mladá Boleslav. Yusuf added third from the spot late on.
Jindřich Trpišovský made several changes into the line-up compared to the Europa League game against Rangers. Mick van Buren started on the right wing after an injury for the first time since January 16. Ondřej Kúdela and Simon Deli were the centre-back duo as these two will probably start against Rangers after a yellow card for David Zima from the first leg.
With 17 minutes on the clock Slavia got into the first chance of the game. Sima sent a beautiful through pass to Tecl who fired wide in a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Mladá Boleslav got into their first bigger chance only a minute later. Bořil’s pass was blocked on the left side and the ball got to Škoda in a good shooting position, but the home striker fired wide from the edge of the box.
Only a minute later Bořil returned the ball to Stanciu inside into the Boleslav box and the Romanian sniper tried his luck with a first-time shot, but this time only hit Tecl standing in the trajectory of his attempt.
After 25 minutes Stanciu passed the ball to Sima on his left and Šeda had to show a good reflex to block his shot on the near post. After the corner Sima got the ball again in another shooting position, but his attempt was blocked this time.
Slavia dominated the game from 15th minute on and were rewarded in the 27th minute. Bořil was tackled by Skalák 5 metres from the edge of the box and Nicolae Stanciu opened the score with a fabulous curler which touched the left post of Šeda’s goal.
In the 40th minute Stanciu added his second goal of the night. Sima showed good control of the ball on the left side of the box and passed it back to Stanciu who went past three Boleslav players and thumped in another stunning goal.
Only a minute later the ball rebounded to Stanislav Tecl in the box, but his low effort was blocked by Šeda.
Second half started in slower pace and the game was broken by many fouls and Slavia had to wait for another chance till the 53rd minute. Sima latched onto a ball on the left wing and moved with it to the centre of the pitch but fired wide from 22 metres.
Michal Škoda could score first goal for resilient Mladá Boleslav in the 58th minute after a but he bulleted his header low next to the left post. Seven minutes later got Provod into a shooting position on the right side of the box but missed the near post with his effort.
Jindřich Trpišovský made triple substitution in the 78th minute when Bah, Holeš and Yusuf came on the pitch, and it was Alexander Bah who played a key role in the situation leading to another goal just tree minutes later. Bah latched onto a pass on the right side of the box, Šimek blocked his cross, was judged to have handled and Slavia could execute a penalty. Another new face on the pitch Yusuf Helal scored the spot-kick and gave Slavia a three-goal cushion.
In the 84th minute Preisler tried his luck on the other side but Kolář managed to save his low shot. Yusuf was then close to his second in the 87th minute but his close-range header missed close.
The Red-whites thus defeated Mladá Boleslav for the 10th time in a row and with the unbeaten run stretching for 35 league games they are now only one game from beating their all-time record from 2017!
