Slavia won an away game against MFK Karviná 3-1 and extended its lead in the league table to nine points.

Manager Jindřich Trpišovský chose his proven starting eleven which he used during the first half of the season. Ondřej Kolář started in goal, Ondřej Kúdela played alongside David Hovorka in central defense, Lukáš Masopust maintained his position on right-back and Jan Bořil started on the left. Lukáš Provod and Tomáš Holeš played as defensive midfielders, the attacking midfield trio was composed of Abdallah Sima, Nicolae Stanciu and Oscar Dorley. Jan Kuchta started the game up front.

In the beginning of the game, both teams played with an attacking mindset. The ball was moving from one side of the pitch to the other one and back again. After that, Slavia started to dominate a little bit, but Karviná was still able to create some interesting opportunities. Even though we could see a number of attacks on both sides, there were no shots on goal in the first thirty minutes.

In the 36th minute, the Red-whites were appealing for a penalty. After a few blocked shots in the penalty area, the ball got to Abdallah Sima who clashed with an opposing defender. VAR checked the possible penalty, but there was no foul on the Slavia striker.

The first half ended with no goals scored but Slavia was able to put some pressure on the opposition, especially in the last few minutes.

The breaktrough came after the first few minutes into the second half. Nicolae Stanciu was playing in a corner kick. He sent the ball to the near post, it bounced from the ground behind the far post to David Hovorka who managed to pass it from the goal line back in front of goal to Abdallah Sima who secured the first goal of the match from close range!

Slavia doubled their lead in the 61st minute. Lukáš Provod sent a beautiful trough ball from his own half to Jan Kuchta, who ran with it trough the whole opposition’s half being chased by one defender. He then shot from the middle of the box and beat Bolek to add the second goal of the game!

Karviná managed to pull one back after a penalty was awarded in their favor. Kristi Qose stepped up to the penalty spot and scored. Even though Ondřej Kolář guessed the left side correctly, he could not reach the ball.

But only a few minutes later, Slavia added another goal. During a counter attack, a trough ball to Sima on the right wing was followed by his beautiful cross to the other side of the penalty area to Peter Olayinka. He took the advantage of the exposed goal, shot with a volley and scored from close range!

Slavia beat MFK Karviná 3-1 and extended their lead in the league table to nine points. The Red-whites will play again on the 27th January against Zlín away from home.
