Slavia defeated Sigma Olomouc thanks to the improved performance and three goals in the second half.
  • Van Buren scores his 13th goal of the season.

  • Slavia remain unbeaten at home this league season.

  • Olomouc lost their first game since October 2022.

After the international break Slavia started against Olomouc with Mick van Buren as a lone striker. Before the game the club gave farewell to David Hovorka who decided to end his playing career after several injuries at the age of 29.

Eden had to wait more than 16 minutes for the first chance, and it was Mick van Buren who could give Slavia lead, but his dangerous shot after several rebounds inside of the box missed the right post.

After 40 minutes Jakub Hromada left the pitch due to shoulder injury and was replaced by Christos Zafeiris. His low shot in the added time of the first half narrowly missed the left post.

However, shortly before the end of the opening half, Slavia took lead. Ivan Schranz returned the deflected cross from the right wing in front of the goal and Mick van Buren sent the ball into the open net. 1-0.

After the break the Red-Whites started to clearly dominate the game. After 58 minutes Zafeiris sent a dangerous shot from behind the box, but Macík blocked his effort from behind the crossbar.

Only four minutes later Jurásek sent a low cross from the left side, the ball rebounded from one of Olomouc defenders and Ondřej Lingr tapped it in from a close range. 2-0.

Slavia were creating one chance after another and in the 75th minute Ivan Schranz added third goal of the night with a close-range header following Douděra’s cross.

The last goal was scored – once again – in the added time. Zafeiris caught a misplaced pass by Olomouc defence, run into the box and set up Václav Jurečka who sent the ball past Macík into the net.

Slavia this won their 13th home game of the season and will remain on top of the league after 25th round of FORTUNA:LIGA.
