And it was Vlček who started a dangerous attack only 4 minutes into the game. He set up Schranz behind Hradec defence, our midfielder passed the ball in front of an open net and Mick van Buren opened the score.
In the 21st minute Václav Jurečka latched onto another through pass on the edge of the box and fired the ball behind Bajza, but the goal was disallowed after a VAR check of Jurečka’s offside.
Five minutes later Tomáš Holeš got another great pass into the box, but his effort ended above the crossbar. The first half thus ended with a narrow Slavia lead.
After 58 minutes Hradec got into their biggest chance when Krejčí got the ball from the left wing behind Slavia defence, but Kolář managed to block his shot with a superb save. In the following attack Mick van Buren cut inside from the left side of the box, but his deflected shot only hit the post.
Slavia thus did not manage to double their lead until 70th minute. Mojmír Chytil – who came on the pitch 9 minutes earlier, headed after Provod’s cross, Bajza only blocked his effort and after several rebounds Chytil managed to send the ball into the net. He scored in his league debut for Slavia after joining the club from Sigma.
