Slavia are kings of Vršovice again! The red-whites beat local rival Bohemians Praha 1-0 as the only successful striker was Jaromír Zmrhal who scored his third in last three home games!
Manager Trpišovský made 2 changes in compare to victorious game against Bordeaux just two days before, Jaroslav Zelený started instead of Jan Bořil on the left side of the defence line, Romanian midfielder Alexandru Baluta replaced Ibrahim Traoré in the centre of midfield.
The red-whites started better and 8 minutes into the game created first chance when Souček found Tecl with his 50-meters pass and our forward prepared shooting position for Stoch, his effort was blocked though, and Slavia ended with just a corner kick.
On the other side Záviška could proceed alone on Slavia goal but his effort from the right side of the box was deflected by one of our defenders to Kolář’ gloves. A minute later Martin Hašek fired again and surprising shot with his left foot hit the woodwork behind Kolář.
After 25 minutes Slavia lost their last fit striker when Stanislav Tecl had to be carried away following a tough duel inside of the opponents’ box. He was replaced by young Jan Matoušek who played just 14 minutes in previous games for Slavia.
The red-whites were slowly gaining dominance and created several chances after 30th minute. Coufal’s sharp cross missed the far post close and Matoušek fired over the crossbar in his big chance.
On 37th minute Zmrhal and Stoch fired twice from outside of the box, both denied by Bohemians goalkeeper Valeš. After the other shot, ball returned to Souček, who found Zmrhal again on the left side of the box and our midfielder fired his effort through Valeš to make it 1-0. Zmrhal scored in his third consecutive home game.
The second half however presented different picture. Bohemians started better and created several chances. After 55 minutes Kúdela stopped Reiter with perfect tackle in his quick counter-attack, at minute 65 Kolář blocked Vodháněl’s fir shot and denied Filip Hašek with his rebound as well.
Slavia could double their lead by Kúdela on 78th minute, but our centre-back was denied by Valeš who punched his effort away.
In front of 15.232 fans (the highest attendance for Vršovice derby since 1980s) Slavia managed to hold their narrow lead and won 1-0. Three-point gain lifter the red-whites on top of the league table again.
