Olomouc - Slavia
OLOMOUC - Slavia made no secret that they wanted three points from Olomouc to keep up with their Legue rivals. But Sigma denied them the pleasure of victory and the sewn-ones had to fight hard to at least equalize the score.
Slavia fighting for European competitions and Olomouc fighting for their First League survival, Saturday match promised an exciting battle. Dušan Uhrin made only one change in the starting line-up when he replaced Antonín Barák who played against Jablonec with Levan Kenia.

The home side showed from the very beginning that they would not make it easy for the sewn-ones as both teams took turns in setting up the pace. Muris Mušanović was the first player who was only centimetres away from opening the score. Thirty minutes into the game Slavia’s striker appeared alone in front of Reichl and Olomouc’s goalkeeper had to pull of a brilliant save with the tip of his toe to keep it level.

The second half started with Hušbauer’s long range effort that unfortunately lacked the accuracy and missed the goal. Levan Kenia was not easily scared by the home defence as he showed in 50th minute when he sneaked between three defenders chasing after the ball. Goalkeeper Reichl had to run out and kick away the ball before the Georgian striker got there.

Since Slavia were not able to score, Olomouc took the lead in 59th minute after one-two between Chorý and Navrátil, who had no mercy with Jiří Pavlenka. Slavia could only thank their goalkeeper few minutes later when Houska executed free-kick precisely towards the left goalpost and Pavlenka produced a vital save.

Jaromír Zmrhal admitted after the match, that he should have taken more time to prepare in 73rd minute. His shot caused trouble to Reichl who dropped the ball and Železník was very close yet few centimetres too far to reach the ball. Zmrhal was definitely way more successful eleven minutes before the final whistle. This time it was Hušbauer whose effort was blocked towards Zmrhal and Slavia’s midfielder equalized the score.

Slavia were pushing on until the very end, but Olomouc’s defence had an answer for everything. Even for Souček’s header after Hušbauer delivered the corner precisely on his head. Reichl showed another prompt save and made sure the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
