A lesson in Wolfsburg

Slavia Ladies lost their first game in UWCL this season. The red & whites played 0-5 in Wolfsburg in the quarter-finals 1st leg. Second game will be played in Eden Arena on Wednesday, March 28 at 6 pm.
For the second time in history, Slavia Ladies qualified for the UWCL quarter-finals and the draw chose them an extremely difficult opponents - German side VfL Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg scored from their very first big chance when Harder fired the ball through Votíková from the left wing. Just a minute later Hansen latched onto a pass from the left wing again and sent her attempt into the net to make it 2-0.

Wolfsburg´s pressure continued and was utilized at minute 39 when Gunnarsdóttir sent her well-placed shot into the top corner of Slavia net.

Slavia goalkeeper Votíková denied Wolfsburg players several times after the break but the home side added fourth with Harder´s long-range shot after 58 minutes.

Slavia had their biggest chance at minute 76 after Svitková´s corner but Wolfsburg goalkeeper Schult denied Divišová with a perfect save on the far post.

Five minutes before the final whistle Pajor scored fifth goal from close range after Kerschowski´s pass.

Second leg of the UWCL quarter-finals is played in Eden Arena on Wednesday, March 28 at 6 pm.
