Romanian youth international Andres Dumitrescu is joining Slavia. The twenty-two-year-old defender, who last played for Sepsi OSK, has signed a contract with Eden until June 30, 2027. "We were looking for an alternative on the left side of defense, where we want to increase competition. We feel that we have a shortage of players on the left flank of the pitch. We see Andres as an interesting promise, an investment in the future. We have been monitoring him for a long time. He is fast, dynamic, with excellent crossing abilities. We believe that our coaches can further improve him and capitalize on his great potential," says Slavia´s sports director, Jiří Bílek.

"For me, the transfer to Slavia is very important, I see it as a big step forward. I am very happy to be here. When I heard about Slavia´s interest, I didn´t hesitate. I know what kind of club it is, what the atmosphere is like here, what kind of fans there are, and how great Prague is as a city. It fulfills everything I wished for," adds Andres Dumitrescu.

Trophies, Europe, and National Team

The twenty-two-year-old left-back is coming to Slavia from the Romanian club Sepsi OSK, where he spent three and a half seasons. In the past season, he won the Romanian Cup and Super Cup with his club.

Standing at 181 centimeters tall, the full-back started his football journey at Argeș Pitești. He gained experience in the youth categories of Italian club Padova and Swiss club Lugano before returning to Romania, where he began playing for the senior team while wearing the Sepsi jersey.

Born in Slatina, he played 88 matches for Sepsi in the red and white jersey over three and a half seasons, scoring twice and providing six assists for his teammates. He also participated in the qualification rounds of the European Conference League, with Sepsi advancing to the playoffs after defeating CSKA Sofia but ultimately falling to Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt in extra time during the second match.

Dumitrescu has represented all of Romania´s youth teams, starting from the U17 category and he has been most recently playing for the U21 team.
