Czech League Awards for the Red and Whites!

Slavia players won in five categories of League Football Association Awards. Lukáš Provod became Player of the Season.

Lukáš Provod | Player of the Season | Midfielder of the Season

Lukáš Provod started to 41 games during the 2020/21 season, and he was one of the key players for Jindřich Trpišovský in the Czech league (3 goals, 9 assists) and in the UEFA Europa League (2 goals). His season ended early in the league game against Sigma Olomouc on the beginning of May when he suffered injury which later appeared to be torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn meniscus. Provod will thus miss the summer EURO final tournament and his return on the pitch will take several months.

Jindřich Trpišovský | Manager of the Season

Another great season for Jindřich Trpišovský and his coaching team ended in second Czech Double in the last 3 years. Slavia are 45 games unbeaten in the Fortuna Liga which is the absolute Czech and Czechoslovak record. The Red-Whites have reached the UEFA Europa League Quarter-finals for the second time in the last 3 years. Slavia won their 3rd Czech title in a row which is the first “hat-trick” for the Red-Whites after 78 years.

Nicolae Stanciu | Best Foreign Player | Fan’s Player of the Season

Stanciu started to 45 games throughout all competitions this season and scored 16 goals (12 in the Czech Fortuna Liga which makes him second best league striker of the Red-whites). With 18 points he is on top of the table of the most useful players in the Czech league. In March 2021 he scored 8 goals in 6 games and helped Slavia to win the title race and the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 against Rangers FC.

Abdallah Sima | Revelation of the Season

19-year old Sima joined Slavia reserves in the spring of 2020 from the third-tier FC Táborsko and the absences caused by Covid-19 made his way to the first team in the autumn part of the 2020/21 season. He scored against OGC Nice in his first Europa League appearance and in the 9 following games he managed to score 9 league and Europa League goals. He scored 20 goals in 39 games for Slavia this season (11 in the Czech league and 4 in the UEFA Europa League).

Slavia Cruise Past Zlín to Reach Cup Quarter-Finals

Slavia made light work of their MOL Cup Round of 16 clash away at Zlín, securing a dominant 4–0 victory. The Reds decided the game already in the first half, when Mojmír Chytil opened the scoring. After the break, Lukáš Provod and youngster Tomáš Jelínek — who netted his first-ever senior goal — added insurance strikes, before Michal Sadílek sealed the win late on.

A valuable draw! Debutant Markovič shines against Atalanta

In the third round of the Champions League group stage, Slavia Prague held Atalanta to a 0–0 draw in Bergamo. The hero of the match was Jakub Markovič, who made at least four phenomenal saves on his Champions League debut. The “Red-and-Whites” picked up their second point in the group standings.

In the second round of the Champions League group stage, Slavia Prague were defeated 0–3 away to Inter Milan at the San Siro. Jindřich Staněk was beaten twice by Lautaro Martínez, a veteran of the sides’ memorable 1–1 draw six years ago, while Denzel Dumfries added a third for the hosts.
