Different game than in the Czech league

We have been looking for the draw. And now Sevilla came. This game will be different from those we know in Czech league, says Tomáš Souček before first leg against Sevilla FC.
“We are all looking forward to playing such a game. It will be a big match. After Genk, we all have been looking forward to the draw, which club we will get, and then we saw it would be Sevilla. I haven’t played many games against Spanish clubs, neither have many our players. We expect a lot and we cannot wait,” Tomáš Souček said on the press conference.

“I like running, but I don’t like games when we don’t have possession. We have been watching videos, we know, what to expect here. We are prepared that this game will be different from those we know in Czech league. We won’t have 60 or 70% possession as usual. But we don’t want to bring shame on Slavia. We also want to play,” Souček added.

And what would be the ideal course of game? “We have all been watching match between Real and Ajax on Tuesday. If something similar happens, it would mean big euphoria for us,” Slavia midfielder believes.

Trpišovský: We can make changes, there are difficult games ahead

Slavia have changed several players in the starting line-up for Genk. Can something similar happen against Sevilla? “It is possible, that we will make changes. Also because of the game we play on Sunday. Against Baník it will be very important match for us. We play on Thursday in Sevilla, then we fly home and on Sunday we play again. And few days later the second leg against Sevilla,” manager Jindřich Trpišovský said.

“We will try to stick to the active game we showed in Genk. But Sevilla play with two forwards who can cooperate, it’s different. Genk played with Samatta alone. Sevilla don’t have to rely on long balls, they can combine with strikers. They have two players in front and three more in the midfield every time and we need to be aware of that. It is nice to play high pressing, we need to do that, but if we don’t catch them, then it is a problem,” Trpišovský added.

Sevilla have lost home only to Spanish teams in last 8 years in Europa League. “Spanish football is different than in rest of Europe. We all remember many successes of Spanish national team and many fantastic players. If we don’t make them, they won’t lose the ball. You don’t see bad pass, you don’t see bad first touch, players are still looking for their space. It’s dangerous, when ball is in the air, and when the ball is on the ground, it’s very fast. The opponent gets tired during the course of the game, it’s a big weapon,” Slavia manager concluded.
