February 21: From zero to hero
KRC Genk 1-4 Slavia
The complete winter break had just one goal: Success in early Europa League round of 32. But after goalless home draw with KRC Genk Slavia were not in the best position for the second leg in Belgium. On top of that the red and whites were one goal down just 10 minutes into the game after the goalkeeper’s mistake. But then Vladimír Coufal equalized and Slavia returned on the pitch for one of the best second halves of the year. Ibrahim Traoré gave us lead and captain Milan Škoda crowned Slavia progression with two more goals.
March 7: The shoulder
Sevilla FC 2-2 Slavia
Slavia conceded just 20 seconds into the game at Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán in Sevilla, Miroslav Stoch equalized from behind the box, but another volley by Munir gave the home side lead again. Then - in 39th minute - Alex Král scored. It was his maiden goal in Slavia, one of the most important and one of the most peculiar ones. Souček failed to reach Stoch’s corner kick, the ball rebounded from Král’s shoulder and fell into the net next to the left post. The promising 2-2 away draw was born.

When Vázquez headed the ball in on 98th minute, no one would bet a single penny on Slavia, but Mick van Buren came with another equalizer just 4 minutes later. And then, at 118’ 53’’ - just a little bit more than 1 minute before the end - Ibrahim Traoré tried his luck from 12 yards, Sevilla defender Simon Kjaer instead of clearing the ball sent it into his own net. “Beautifully hideous” as Czech TV commentator described it.
