Great success in UEFA Woman´s Champions League

PRAGUE/EDEN ARENA - Slavia secured round of 16 first-leg home win on Thursday. The Czech champions defeated 2009 finalists Zvezda Perm 2:1.
Slavia knew their weak spot was entering the game. And the team successfully avoided trouble by scoring the first goal in 5th minute. Petra Divišová, who celebrated her 200th goal in domestic league, nodded in a corner for her third goal of this campaign.

The 2009 runners-up Zvezda equalised in 19th minute when José Nahi’s well-struck volley ended under the crossbar. During the second half Slavia pushed for the win. Simona Necidová utilized Svitková’s corner kick and her header in 54th minute secured home win for Slavia.

The second leg is played on Thursday 19 November with 16:00 CET kick-off.

Head coach Anton Mišovec was pleased with the final score. "It is a great result since we played against professionals and our girls go to school or they work. I am glad that our strategy worked out and we ended up scoring the second goal. We took the lead 2-1 in the half time and we realize that the second leg will be very difficult. The weather in Perm is harsh and the artificial grass has low quality. But I would be glad to keep this team at Champions league as long as possible."
