I am seeking the highest level. And I cannot wait

On Sunday, he watched Slavia´s victory over Pardubice from the VIP box at Fortuna Arena, and on Monday, he signed a four-year contract. Read the first interview with Simion Michez, the new addition to the Red and Whites.

"I am very happy to have taken this step in my career. I think the time has come for me to further develop myself. I can´t wait to start playing with my new teammates and in front of the amazing fans. I want to become an even better player thanks to Slavia," describes Simion Michez.

How happy are you to have tied your future with Slavia?
"Extremely. I think I am in the right mental state, I’m not afraid of anything, and I am looking for the highest level I can achieve. For me, this is a great step. I am very happy about it and can´t wait to start and show everyone my strengths."

Do you believe that Slavia´s playing style will suit you?
"I think Slavia will suit me well, I enjoy quality, and I can hopefully bring even more creativity to the team. I want to play forward and engage the fans in the action."

At Beerschot, you mainly played as a wingback.
"Yes. I can also play as a winger because I have played in many positions. Now, it is easier for me to play in multiple positions."

How did you enjoy Sunday´s match?
"It was a great experience, great atmosphere. I watched Slavia´s match on TV last week. But when you see it live, it´s not the same. It gave me the desire to start playing here."

I heard you also watched the Champions League battle against Lille…
"Yes, the match against Lille was incredible. I think Slavia was much better but didn´t score. That’s how football is. If you don’t score, you’re vulnerable. That’s football, but we´re in the Europa League. That´s also a good competition. I have great confidence in our team; we will beat big names in the Europa League this year."

I saw on Instagram that you follow Malick Diouf, did he give you any advice, recommendations?
"He speaks French, so it was easy to communicate with him. We talked briefly about Slavia, about what I can expect. Everything was positive, and it made it easier for me knowing that I will already know someone."

Tell me about your plans, personal goals.
"I have big dreams. I have no limits; you must have the right mindset, set no limits, and have dreams. My ambition is to win everything. The league, the cup, and even the Europa League. When I look at our team, I see great quality. It´s possible to achieve. My ambitions are the highest; I will never give anything to the opponents."
