I choose you! Daiki Hashioka joins Slavia

The 26-year-old defender transfers from English side Luton and has signed a contract in Eden until June 30, 2029. Welcome to the red and white, Hashi. It already suits you!

"We´ve been following Daiki for three years; he went through our scouting and analytical system. He´s versatile and excellent in the air. We are gaining a player with experience from the Premier League and the national team, who has gone through all the youth levels of Japanese football. Besides his sporting contribution, I believe he can also help us unlock new and interesting opportunities to push Slavia forward and strengthen our position in the Asian market. I´d like to thank Luton and the agency for fair and professional negotiations. I wish Daiki the best of luck," says Slavia’s sporting director Jiří Bílek.

"Slavia Prague is a team with great history. I watched their Champions League matches, like the one against Barcelona. I’m thrilled — that’s one of the reasons I chose Slavia and its fans. They’re unbelievable. I watch them on YouTube every day. Even my family told me they create an incredible atmosphere and that I should come here to play. I can’t wait,” says Daiki Hashioka, speaking from Eden for the first time.

The Japanese right back began his career at Urawa Reds, where he spent three seasons, reached the final of the AFC Champions League, and won the domestic cup before moving to Belgium. In the Jupiler Pro League, he played 84 matches for St. Truiden, scoring two goals and adding 14 assists.

His performances earned him a move to the UK, where he experienced the prestige of the Premier League in the second half of the 2023/24 season. He played ten matches and also appeared in the FA Cup. However, that same season, his club Luton was relegated, and in the Championship, he made 17 appearances.

Daiki has represented Japan at all youth levels and made his senior national team debut in 2019. He was also part of the squad during the "home" Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

The 184-centimeter-tall native of Urawa plays on the right flank, most often as a wing-back. Hashi, welcome to Eden!
