In Europa League Round of 16 after long 16 years

In 2002/03 Slavia eliminated Mouscron, Partizan Belgrade and PAOK in UEFA Cup. The draw led them against Beşiktaş – unbeaten leaders of Turkish league – In the Round of 16. Slavia win 1-0 in the 1st leg home and eventually lost 2-4 away in Istanbul, which put an end to their European adventure.

Slavia were 4 goals down in Istanbul after 70 minutes, but the red-whites made almost a miracle when Dostálek from penalty and Hrdlička scored two on 77th and 82nd minute. Mansiz hit woodwork in the last minute of regular time and Slavia got a chance of a free kick in the added time. Karel Piták scored, but the referee interrupted Slavia celebration with incorrectly flagged offside.
