In Europa League Round of 16 after long 16 years

Slavia will play against Sevilla FC in the next stage of UEFA Europa League. The red-whites qualified for the Round of 16 of European cup for the first time since 2003. 16 years ago, they played equal games with Turkish club Beşiktaş.
In 2002/03 Slavia eliminated Mouscron, Partizan Belgrade and PAOK in UEFA Cup. The draw led them against Beşiktaş – unbeaten leaders of Turkish league – In the Round of 16. Slavia win 1-0 in the 1st leg home and eventually lost 2-4 away in Istanbul, which put an end to their European adventure.

Slavia were 4 goals down in Istanbul after 70 minutes, but the red-whites made almost a miracle when Dostálek from penalty and Hrdlièka scored two on 77th and 82nd minute. Mansiz hit woodwork in the last minute of regular time and Slavia got a chance of a free kick in the added time. Karel Piták scored, but the referee interrupted Slavia celebration with incorrectly flagged offside. Despite Slavia protests, Beşiktaş qualified for the quarter-finals against Lazio, losing 1-3 on aggregate. FC Porto won the competition that year winning 3-2 against Celtic FC.

In the 17th round of the Chance Liga, Slavia defeated Slovácko 3–0 at Eden. Mojmír Chytil scored twice, and Tomáš Chorý added a ruthless finish. Igoh Ogbu returned from injury, and academy product Tomáš Jelínek made his league debut as part of the starting line-up.

Slavia drew 0–0 with Athletic Bilbao in the 5th round of the Champions League league phase. Jindřich Staněk delivered an exceptional performance, denying the Basque club four clear goal-scoring opportunities. After five matches, the Red-Whites have three points from three draws.

Slavia defeated Bohemians in front of 18,992 spectators at Fortuna Arena and continue to lead the Chance Liga table. The Vršovice derby was decided in the first half, with goals from Tomáš Chorý and Štěpán Chaloupek (the latter deflected in by Okeke). In the second half, Lukáš Provod scored a stunning strike, while Zeman pulled one back for the visitors.
