Martin Říha Elected to UEFA Legal Commission

SK Slavia Prague has its representative in the upper echelons of European football. The 1st vice-chairman of the club´s board, Martin Říha, has been elected to the Legal Commission of the European Club Association (ECA) and, as an ECA representative, to the UEFA Legal Commission.

Martin Říha becomes the sole club representative from the Czech Republic to sit on the UEFA commission. This significant diplomatic success is primarily attributed to his previous professional experience.

"It is a great honor for me to represent Slavia in the ECA commission and, as a representative of the ECA, also in the UEFA Legal Commission, which consists of more than 300 associated clubs. I accept the election with humility and look forward to working in the commissions and gaining experience. I believe that this will strengthen the club´s position in European structures," stated Martin Říha, 1st Vice-Chairman of the board of SK Slavia Prague.

"Discussions are currently underway on a range of changes that will have significant implications for our club, whether it´s the structure of club competitions or the reforms of transfer and other related rules. Membership in these commissions will ensure not only full awareness of the club about future developments but also enable active participation in shaping them," added Martin Říha.

Martin Říha has been with Slavia since 2020. In April 2023, he moved from the position of Director of Sports and Technical Department to the club´s board as the 1st Vice-Chairman and CEO. An alumnus of the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague, he has other interesting professional experiences. He previously led the legislative-legal department of the Football Association of the Czech Republic and is the only one in the country to have completed the prestigious UEFA Football Law Programme.

However, Říha is not the only representative of Slavia in European associations. The nomination of the manager of the Slavia academy, Petr Hurych, was also successful, and he became a member of the ECA Youth Development Commission.
