Michal Beran signs 4-year contract

19-year old midfielder Michal Beran joins Slavia from Slovan Liberec. He signed contract with the red and whites until 30 June 2024.

Michal Beran will join Slavia on the fitness training camp in Austria. Final terms of his transfer are currently being negotiated with Slovan Liberec. His loan to Liberec during the first half of 2020/21 season is one of the options.

“Slavia is the best club in the Czech Republic with the best players which means there is also the biggest competition here. But I believe I am ready, I want to show that this transfer is not a mistake. I want to show my best, to the manager and to the fans,” Michal Beran said after his signing.

Slavia have been closely watching Michal Beran for almost a year. "We have been watching Michal for the entire season, since we saw him in the friendly games last summer. We have been in touch and I am glad we managed to bring him to Slavia. He is a big prospect for the future of the club, modern type of player with great dribbling and final passes. Even though he has only few league caps he is the player for our future. We want him to undergo the summer preparation with us and then give him chance to regularly start in Liberec. I am happy we could agree on this," Slavia manager Jindřich Trpišovský added.

19-year old midfielder started his career in 1.FC Slovácko, in 2017 he moved to Prague and joined Bohemians 1905 (his older brother Štěpán joined Slavia the same year). A year later Michal Beran transferred to Slovan Liberec playing his first season for U19 and joining the first team for 2019/20. In September 2019 he played his league debut against Dynamo České Budějovice.

In the second half of 2019/20 season Beran started playing regularly for Liberec first team. He made overall 12 caps in FORTUNA:LIGA last season wit 1 goal and 1 assist. He also became member of Czech U21 national team.
