Miroslav Stoch leaves Slavia for PAOK

Slovak midfielder Miroslav Stoch´s transfer to Greece was completed on Sunday.
“I had an offer from PAOK, I know the club and together with my family we decided to accept it. I wanted to try to play abroad once again and Greece is the only country in which I haven’t won any title,” Miroslav Stoch explained his reasons for the transfer.

“I will always remember the good things I experienced in Slavia. I spent here two beautiful years, we won the league and twice the cup, it is a fantastic result. I had a bit slower start, but later I showed all the fans I can handle it,” Stoch said.

“There has always been fantastic support from the fans and I really enjoyed the chant they created specially for me. Among Czech and Slovak clubs this is something spectacular and I believe the people will still be attending the games and support the team and that they will achieve something big together,” Slovak international concluded.

Miroslav Stoch joined Slavia in August 2017 and scored his first goal in March 2018 during a crazy 3-3 Prague Derby against Sparta. In his first season in Slavia Stoch scored 6 goals and added 6 assists, seized the Czech Cup and was voted the Player of the Season according to fans’ voting.

In 2018/19 season Stoch became one of key players in historic double. With 14 goals and 13 assists he became the most productive Slavia player and his strike from distance against Dukla was voted Goal of the year 2018. Stoch proved his key position in European games as well when he started in all 22 Europa League or Champions League games in last 2 year.

“After an agreement of Slavia sports management, I decided to sign the transfer agreement of Miroslav Stoch to PAOK. I also regarded personal reasons on player’s side. We did not plan the transfer but there are situations when you must be willing to help,” Slavia Chairman of Board Jaroslav Tvrdík said on the transfer.

Mino, thank you for everything. Good luck in Greece!
