Ondřej Zmrzlý joins Slavia

Twenty-four-year-old defender Ondřej Zmrzlý is swapping his Olomouc jersey for the stitched one at Slavia; he signed a contract until June 30, 2027, at Eden.

"Ondřej Zmrzlý is among the players who have showcased their potential in the league. We believe it´s the right time for him to take another step forward at Slavia. We wish him the best of luck," says Slavia´s sports director, Jiří Bílek.

The new reinforcement is also welcomed by coach Jindřich Trpišovský. "Ondra can be a significant addition to our team. He plays as a left-back, but we also see great value in his versatility and the possibility of alternating in the midfield. In the past, this has paid off for us several times, and that´s one of the reasons why we chose Ondra," explains the Slavia coach.

"I thank everyone for the welcome; I´m immensely happy that the transfer went through. Moving from Olomouc to Slavia—the biggest Czech club—is a wonderful feeling. Now I want to acclimate as quickly as possible, bond with teammates, get used to the style, which, especially in terms of conditioning, is demanding at Slavia. I believe I´m ready for all the challenges and will help the club achieve further success," declares Ondřej Zmrzlý after signing the contract.

Ondřej Zmrzlý started playing football at SK Bělkovice-Lašťany, where he moved from at the age of six to Sigma. In Haná, he played in the UEFA junior league—scoring two goals in three matches. He also has nine appearances for the U16 and U20 national teams. In 2022, he made his debut for the senior national team in a friendly match against the Faroe Islands at the Androv Stadium.

He debuted in Olomouc´s senior team in September 2018 during the third round of the domestic cup against Třinec. He stepped onto the league field for the first time in July 2019 in a match against Viktoria Plzeň. In the following season, he became an important member of the starting lineup, delivering consistent performances that led to increased playing time and his first goal against Zlín.

In total, he played 128 matches in the top league, scoring twelve goals and providing fourteen assists. In the current season, he has showcased a productive record of 3 goals and 5 assists, placing him at the top among defenders.

The 185-centimeter-tall left-back boasts an excellent left foot and precise crosses, supplying attackers even from the midfield. His height gives him an advantage in aerial duels, and he´s praised for his vision and constructive distribution.

He´ll wear the number 33 jersey at Slavia. Welcome to Eden, Ondřej!
