Ready for Europe: Slavia ladies train in the Canary Islands

SAN AUGUSTIN – The mid-season training is on for the Slavia ladies. The team has been training in the Canary Islands since Saturday.
The ladies are elbows deep in their preparation for Champions League quarter-finals against Olympique Lyonnais. They are getting back in shape after Christmas break and thanks to the warm weather they can practice on natural grass.

But amidst the hard work, there is still time for fun. The squad attended a Spanish league match Las Palmas – Atletico Madrid on Sunday. The home side lost to Madrid 0-3 in front of a 28,515 spectators and the girls enjoyed the atmosphere a lot.

There is a friendly match coming on Wednesday 20 January. Slavia will face Spanish team CD Astrachan Santa Lucia at 19:30 local time (20:30 CET).

The champs take over Prague! 314. derby decided by Oscar

​The champions of the Chance Liga added another feather to their cap on Saturday night, defeating Sparta 2–1 in the 314th Prague derby. Tomas Chory opened the scoring early, and Oscar sealed the dramatic win in the 87th minute to break the deadlock. It was Slavia’s 20th consecutive home league victory, surpassing a nearly century-old club record.

​The champions of this season’s Chance Liga returned to Fortuna Arena in style. In the 2nd round of the championship group, they erased a two-goal deficit against Plzen and claimed a thrilling 4–3 win — their third victory over the West Bohemian side this season. Goals from Schranz, Zafeiris, Zima, and Holes secured the triumph in front of 18,413 fans. Slavia remain perfect at home in this league campaign!
