Six Slavia players in Czech national team

Czech national team will prepare for Kosovo and Montenegro with six Slavia players.
There are two EURO 2020 away qualifiers ahead of the Czech national team. First one in Pristina against Kosovo on Saturday, 7 September, the other one in Podgorica against Montenegro on Tuesday, 10 September.

Defenders Jan Bořil and Vladimír Coufal and midfielders Alex Král, Lukáš Masopust, Tomáš Souček and Josef Hušbauer were called into national team duty.

Ondřej Kolář, Tomáš Holeš, Ondřej Kúdela, Petr Ševčík, Milan Škoda and Jan Matoušek (currently on loan to FK Jablonec) are among reserves. Jan Matoušek is also in the U21 squad for matches with Lithuania and France.

Czech Republic are second in the Group A with 6 points from 3 games, 1 point ahead of Kosovo (3 games) and equal with England (only 2 games played).

In the third round of the Champions League group stage, Slavia Prague held Atalanta to a 0–0 draw in Bergamo. The hero of the match was Jakub Markovič, who made at least four phenomenal saves on his Champions League debut. The “Red-and-Whites” picked up their second point in the group standings.

In the second round of the Champions League group stage, Slavia Prague were defeated 0–3 away to Inter Milan at the San Siro. Jindřich Staněk was beaten twice by Lautaro Martínez, a veteran of the sides’ memorable 1–1 draw six years ago, while Denzel Dumfries added a third for the hosts.
