Slavia dismiss manager Jaroslav Šilhavý

PRAGUE – Management of football club Slavia Prague dismissed first team head coach Jaroslav Šilhavý and his assistants Jiří Chytrý and Milan Veselý in response to unsatisfactory performance of the A-team in the competitive games. New management team will be introduced soon.
“We must thank Jaroslav Šilhavý for all the success he has made with Slavia. We will never forget the title from the last season as well as the incredibly long series of games without a single loss. He is and he will be respected personality in the history of Slavia,” Chairman of Board Jaroslav Tvrdík said.

“We want to lift Slavia to the highest football aims. The assessment of the autumn part of this season showed us that we must make more organizational, procedural and personal changes to create better conditions for operation of the whole first team management. It is now fully in hands of the new Sport Director Jan Nezmar,” Tvrdík added.

Jaroslav Šilhavý joined Slavia in September 2016 after the dismissal of Dušan Uhrin jr. He led the red & whites to their first title since 2009 and qualified for the UEFA Europa League group stage. Under his management Slavia set the new Czech league record with 36 consecutive games unbeaten.

Slavia thanks Jaroslav Šilhavý and the whole management team for their effort and wishes them good luck in their future career.
