Slavia in Germany: 24 years waiting for a win

Slavia have played 5 games in Germany since 1993. But they last win in Freiburg dates to 1995.
The red and whites played often in Germany in 1970s and 1980s in Intertoto Cup, however, in the era of the independent Czech Republic (since 1993) Slavia have travelled to Germany only for five games, last time 14 years ago to Hamburg. Only one game on German soil turn out victorious – the very first one in 1995 in Freiburg (2-1). Since then Slavia lost 4 games in Germany and failed to score a single goal. Trpišovský’s men will try to turn this statistic on Tuesday against Borussia Dortmund in their last game of Champions league Group F.

The overall Slavia record against German clubs (since 1972) is otherwise pretty equal. From 25 games (13 in Intertoto Cup, 4 in Cup Winners’ Cup and 8 in UEFA Cup) Slavia won 9, drew 6 and lost 10.
