Slavia players in national teams: Three celebrations

Seven Slavia players were called-up to the national teams. Czech Republic won their Nations League group, both Czech and Croatia U21 qualified for the EURO.

Tomáš Holeš started to the friendly against strong German side and played for 90 minutes. Both managers gave chance to those players who do not often play for the national teams. Waldschmidt scored the only goal of the game in 13th minute.

Lukáš Masopust played for 62 minutes, Hovorka missed the game because of a training injury and Holeš remained on the bench this time. Darida gave the Czechs early lead which proved decisive.

Masopust played opening 45 minutes of the federal derby against Slovakia. David Zima replaced injured David Hovorka in the squad with his first call-up to the Czech first team. Tomáš Souček scored in the opening half after a cross by another ex-Slavia midfielder Jankto, Ondrášek added second goal after the break. Thanks to Israel win over Scotland in the other game the Czechs won the group and could celebrate their promotion to the elite League A for 2022.

The Czech U21 needed a win to keep their chances for EURO qualification. Zima, Lingr and Matoušek (currently on loan to Liberec) all played in starting line-up. After a 2-0 win and the Scotland defeat to Greece the Czech national team qualified for U21 EURO from the first place in the group.

Petar Musa played for 22 minutes against Scotland. In Lithuania, our striker started from the beginning and scored two goals during 90 minutes on the pitch. Croatia finished second in the group behind the Czech Republic and qualified for the final tournament too.

Slavia defeated Bohemians in front of 18,992 spectators at Fortuna Arena and continue to lead the Chance Liga table. The Vršovice derby was decided in the first half, with goals from Tomáš Chorý and Štěpán Chaloupek (the latter deflected in by Okeke). In the second half, Lukáš Provod scored a stunning strike, while Zeman pulled one back for the visitors.

Slavia won 5–3 at Štruncovy Sady in the 15th round of the Chance Liga. Tomáš Chorý scored twice, Youssoupha Sanyang netted his first league goal, and Štěpán Chaloupek and Christos Zafeiris were also on target. The Red-Whites lead the domestic competition by two points heading into the international break.

Penalty, Early Second-Half Goal, and Defeat to Arsenal

Slavia fell 0–3 to Arsenal at Eden Arena in the 4th round of the Champions League league phase. The Premier League leaders took the lead through Saka’s converted penalty, Merino doubled the advantage in the first minute of the second half, and the same player later sealed the final score. A penalty initially awarded to Slavia was overturned by the referee after consulting VAR.
