Slavia signed the Czech international Michal Sadílek
“We´re acquiring a fully developed player, an immediate reinforcement hardened by 100 matches in the top Dutch league. Michal also has experience with European competitions, he is creative and can be productive. I believe he will help us achieve the goals we´ve set for the upcoming season,” said Slavia’s sporting director Jiří Bílek.
“I want to be a valuable part of the team and leave everything on the pitch. After a title-winning season, the clear goal is to defend the championship and add the domestic cup. And in the Champions League, we want to show that we’re not just there to make up the numbers, but that we can challenge anyone. Slavia has what it takes to make an impact in Europe,” said Michal Sadílek after signing a three-year contract.
Michal Sadílek spent the last four seasons at Twente, where he made 101 appearances in the Eredivisie, scoring 7 goals and providing 12 assists. He last featured in the Czech top flight during the 2020/21 season, when he was loaned from PSV Eindhoven to Slovan Liberec. In 24 matches, he recorded 6 goals and 2 assists.
The native of Uherské Hradiště received his first call-up to the national team in May 2019 for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Montenegro, and later made the final squad for the tournament. A recent injury ruled him out of the latest European Championship. So far, he has made 25 appearances for the senior national team and could add another in the coming week.
The Czech team will first host Montenegro in Plzeň on Friday, June 6, and three days later face group favorites Croatia in Osijek, in the qualifiers for the upcoming tournament.
