Slavia will open the new Craiova stadium

PRAGUE – Slavia were invited by the Romanian club CS Universitatea Craiova to play the inaugural game on their newly built Stadionul Ion Oblemenco.
The game takes part on Friday, November 10 at 8 pm. The construction of the new Craiova stadium started in 2015 and is being finished right now. It can host 31 thousand fans and Slavia will be the very first hosts there.

The game will be played during an international break and players on their international duties will be excluded from the team traveling to Romania. CS Universitatea Craiova are currently on the second place of Romanian league, one point behind Cluj.

A valuable draw! Debutant Markovič shines against Atalanta

In the third round of the Champions League group stage, Slavia Prague held Atalanta to a 0–0 draw in Bergamo. The hero of the match was Jakub Markovič, who made at least four phenomenal saves on his Champions League debut. The “Red-and-Whites” picked up their second point in the group standings.

In the second round of the Champions League group stage, Slavia Prague were defeated 0–3 away to Inter Milan at the San Siro. Jindřich Staněk was beaten twice by Lautaro Martínez, a veteran of the sides’ memorable 1–1 draw six years ago, while Denzel Dumfries added a third for the hosts.

Slavia kicked off their Champions League group stage campaign with a 2–2 draw against Norwegian champions Bodø/Glimt. Jindřich Trpišovský’s side led by two goals — both scored by Youssoupha Mbodji — but the visitors managed to equalize late in the game. Goalkeeper Jindřich Staněk also made a crucial save from the penalty spot while the score was 1–0.
