The Danish Boy: Mads Emil Madsen joins Slavia

Mads Emil Madsen is Red-White! 23-year old Danish midfielder signed four-and-a-half year deal in Slavia.

Former Danish U-18, U-19 and U-21 international joins Slavia from LASK Linz. He signed a deal until the 31 December 2025.

“I am really happy. It’s crazy to see the Museum, the Stadium for the first time. It looks amazing. There were no doubts I’d join Slavia when I’ve heard that there was a possibility to go there. I got to talk with the coach and the way he sees football and the way he sees me, I think it’s a good fit,” Madsen said after his first day in Prague.
“The European cups are also one of the reasons why I joined Slavia. We have the Champions League qualification, and the club plays for the title in every competition it’s in. That’s awesome,” the Danish midfielder added.

Mads Emil Madsen started with football in his hometown Gammel Rye. In the age of 13 he joined Silkeborg and continued playing in their youth teams. With Silkeborg – club with a great history and 1996 Intertoto Cup winners – Madsen signed his first professional contract in October 2016. A month later – in the age of 18 – he made his first-team debut in a league game against Lyngby.

Silkeborg were relegated after 2016/17 season, but a year later Madsen became regular in their starting line-up in the first Danish division. He played 28 games and scored his first goal in the game against HB Køge in March 2018. His club managed to win its competition and returned to the top tier.
The 189 cm tall central midfielder started to 30 games in 2019/20 with 2 goals scored and 7 assists and became the club captain in the age of 22 in February 2020. After the season he moved to Austria and joined LASK Linz. Madsen started to 3 games in the UEFA Europa League Group Stage and managed to score his maiden European goal against Ludogorets. In the Austrian Bundesliga he made 29 caps and helped LASK to reach the 4th place in the league and become runners-up in the Austrian Cup.
