To Northern Ireland or Gibraltar in the UECL second qualifying round

Slavia will play against the winner of a tie between Larne FC and St Joseph’s FC.

The UEFA Europa Conference League draw took place on 15 June. The name of our opponent will be known on 14 July when the second leg of the first qualifying round takes place.

Slavia will start away on 21 July, the second leg will be played on 28 July at Eden. Concrete time of the kick-offs is yet to be decided. 2022/23 season-ticket holders will have free entry for the home game.

Larne FC comes from the city of Larne in Northern Ireland about 35 kilometres North of Belfast. The club was founded in 1889 but had to wait until the 2018/19 season to win its first title. In the last two seasons the club also won the home cup. Last season Larne finished fifth in the league table but defeated Glentoran in the UECL play-off. In the 2021/22 season Larne managed to eliminate Bala Town from Wales and Aarhus from Denmark in the UECL qualifiers before loosing to Pacos de Ferreira from Portugal. David McDaid was the best striker of the team last season with 12 goals. Larne FC play their home games at Inver Park with a capacity around 3,000 seats.

St Joseph’s FC from Gibraltar appear regularly in the European cup’s qualifiers, last year they were eliminated by Levadia Tallin in the 1st round. The club was founded in 1912 and is thus the oldest club in Gibraltar. St Joselph’s finished 3rd in the last league table, their only league title dates to 1995/96, their last cup triumph to 2013. They play their games at Victoria Stadium with artificial grass and a capacity of 5,000 spectators.
