Slavia entered the league final in a dominant fashion, defeating Ostrava 5-0 at Eden. Mojmír Chytil scored twice, while Václav Jurečka´s goal secured his position at the top of the goal scorers´ table. Ivan Schranz contributed with two beautiful assists.
Coach Jindřich Trpišovský's team made only one change compared to the victorious match in Hradec, with captain Jan Bořil returning to the lineup after a minor injury. Petr Ševčík operated in midfield, celebrating his 30th birthday on Saturday.

Slavia hasn't lost to Banik in their last fourteen league matches, defeating Ostrava ten times.

The Stitched threatened early on, with Lukáš Provod's header narrowly missing the target from David Douděra's cross on the right. Bořil failed to direct his header into the net from a similar situation, excellently set up by Mojmír Chytil. Markovič saved Provod's deflected shot, while Staněk pulled off a save from Tank's headed attempt on the other end.

In the 23rd minute, Bořil cleared a block, and Trpišovský's side scored from the resulting play. Provod put the ball into the net from Schranz's flick, but the goal was disallowed for offside after VAR intervention. However, Slavia didn't dwell on it as Ivan Schranz scored twice in the 28th minute, his first shot parried brilliantly by Markovič, but the Slovak international was quick to react with a header - 1-0.

Douděra headed wide from an interesting position, and Staněk punched away Banik's corner. In the 42nd minute, Rusnák had a chance to equalize but missed the target. The first half ended with Slavia leading by one goal, and Václav Jurečka replaced the injured Provod for the second half. In the 58th minute, Chytil scored his second goal with a beautiful finish, redirecting Douděra's shot past Markovič - 2-0.

Moments later, Tanko was shown a red card for a reckless challenge, having been also sent off in their last encounter in Vítkovice. In the 55th minute, Jurečka scored his 16th goal of the season with a header from Schranz's assist, putting Slavia 3-0 ahead.

Three minutes later, Chytil scored his second goal, profiting from another excellent pass from Schranz - 4-0. Chytil scored eleven of his fifteen league goals this season in front of his own fans at Eden!

Jurečka had a couple of chances but couldn't beat Markovič. Bořil's shot was saved by the Banik goalkeeper. In the 78th minute, substitute Matěj Jurásek scored with a left-footed shot, assisted by Jurečka - 5-0.

Tijani, who replaced the two-goal scorer Chytil, attempted a shot which was blocked by a Banik defender. Two minutes before the end, Staněk made a great save to deny Šudák.

There were no further goals, as Slavia beat Banik by a margin of five goals in front of 18,028 fans. Trpišovský's men will face another challenge next week, with the 311th derby taking place at Letná.
